Dr. Davis is an experienced eye surgeon, having performed thousands of surgeries, including advanced cataract surgery, glaucoma surgery, eye lid surgery (blepharoplasty), vision correction surgery including PRK, and LASEK. He is proud to be one of the first Pikes Peak area eye surgeons to offer the latest advance in laser cataract surgery.
Patients with urgent conditions can typically be seen the same day.

What is a comprehensive ophthalmologist?
A comprehensive ophthalmologist is a medical doctor (a physician) who specializes in treating patients with a wide variety of eye disorders and vision problems. A comprehensive ophthalmologist is an eye specialist. In years past, they were called general ophthalmologists. Dr. Davis is both an eye physician and an eye surgeon, hence the name comprehensive ophthalmologist.

About David Davis MD
Dr. Davis attended Oklahoma State University on a National Merit Scholarship and graduated with dual degrees in Botany and Radiation & Nuclear Technology in the honors program. After graduation he attended the University of Oklahoma Medical School and then interned at the University of Arkansas in Little Rock.
He began his military service after his internship in 1984. During his 21 year career, including 2 years service at sea and 5 years overseas, he received 16 decorations and rose to the rank of Captain in the US Navy. He was one of the earlier military refractive surgeons. Dr. Davis established and ran the first Navy Laser Vision Correction Center in the Southeastern US, where he treated Navy SEALs, Marines, and Pilots.
In addition to his military service, Dr. Davis held a number of academic positions, most recently Clinical Instructor and Associate Director of the Residency in Ophthalmology of the University of Florida. He has trained over 45 resident ophthalmology doctors in cataract and refractive surgery, taught Ophthalmic Anatomy at the Naval School of Health Sciences, and received 6 teaching awards from the American Academy of Family Practice.
He is active in nationwide continuing education as well. Recently he has served as a panelist and/or moderator of scientific paper sessions at the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery annual meetings in Boston, San Francisco, and Chicago.
