Cataracts is a slowly developing eye condition that causes the lens to become cloudy. Most people associate their cataract symptoms with looking through a dirty or cloudy window.
Fortunately, cataracts are usually easy to diagnose and treat. A Vision Institute physician will examine your eye to determine the type, size and location of the cataract. During the outpatient cataract procedure, your eye doctor removes the clouded lens and implants an artificial replacement lens—either a standard monofocal lens, or an advanced technology lifestyle lens—in its place.
The incision heals naturally, and stitches are not necessary. The procedure is often performed in as little as fifteen minutes.
