  • Blake Simmons, OD, FAAO
    Blake Simmons, OD, FAAO

    Dr. Simmons is our eye-disease, residency trained Colorado Springs Optometrist.

    He obtained his doctor’s degree from Pacific University College of Optometry and completed his residency at Kansas City Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He also completed studies at the prestigious Bascom Eye Center in Miami.

    Dr. Simmons has been designated a fellow by the American Academy of Optometry. He is board certified through the American Board of Optometry. Dr. Simmons has been practicing in the Pikes Peak region since 2008.

    In the summer of 2014, Dr. Simmons purchased St Luke’s Eye Care and Laser Center which was re-named as Vision Institute.

    Dr. Simmons and his lovely wife, Sharise, live in Colorado Springs with their four children. He enjoys sports and is an avid volleyball player. He lived in Peru for almost 2 years and is fluent in Spanish.

  • Erik Anderson, MD
    Erik Anderson, MD

    Dr. Erik Anderson is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in Cornea, Cataract and LASIK eye care.

    Growing up in Colorado, Dr. Anderson was brought up in a healthcare centered environment and was focused from an early age on a career in the medical industry. Since finishing his undergraduate degree with Honors from the University of Chicago, he then received a Master’s Degree from Georgetown University before completing medical school at the University of Illinois. Upon his graduation, he completed an ophthalmology residency at Chicago’s Cook County Medical Center, one of the country’s busiest hospitals. In residency, he achieved the 90th percentile on the annual ophthalmology in-service exam and 95th percentile in cataract and corneal surgical volume. In his final year, he was elected Chief Resident by his attending. Dr. Anderson then completed a Corneal, Refractive, and External Disease Fellowship at Wake Forest University and made a humanitarian trip to Honduras to provide cataract surgery to the underprivileged local community. In his free time, Dr. Anderson enjoys skiing, golfing, and spending time with his wife and two young children.

  • Andrew Henderson, OD
    Andrew Henderson, OD

    Dr. Andrew Henderson is excited to return to Colorado and be able to contribute to providing the highest quality eye care with Vision Institute in Colorado Springs.

    Growing up around optometry, Dr. Henderson spent time working in an optometric practice in his teenage years and always had an interest in eye care. He moved to Colorado to complete a Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Denver. During his undergraduate studies, he developed a passion for many outdoor activities and the state of Colorado. Dr. Henderson then received his Doctor of Optometry degree at Indiana University School of Optometry.

    During his optometric studies, Dr. Henderson was recognized multiple times for his academic achievement and proficiency in ocular disease. He received training in all areas of optometric care, completing clinical rotations with two Veterans Administration Medical centers, a private Ophthalmology/Optometry Referral center as well as the School of Optometry’ Eye Care center. After receiving his degree, Dr. Henderson completed a residency with BVA Advanced Eye Care and Joy Vision focusing on Ocular Disease and Refractive and Ocular Surgery.

    Dr. Henderson is a member of the American Academy of Optometry and the American Optometric Association.

    Aside from his passion for eye care, Dr. Henderson enjoys spending time with his friends and family and taking advantage of all the outdoor activities that Colorado provides. He also spends time walking his English Bulldog Churchill.

  • Edward Stevenson, DO
    Edward Stevenson, DO

    Dr. Edward Stevenson grew up on the other side of the mountains in Utah. He graduated with honors in neuroscience from Brigham Young University and he attended Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine. His residency training in medicine and ophthalmology was at Michigan State University where he was chief resident. Dr. Stevenson gained additional specialized training as a uveitis and medical retina fellow in Hartford, Connecticut. His research activities include neuro-inflammatory and autoimmune disease.

    Dr. Stevenson specializes in treating diseases of the retina like diabetes and macular degeneration. As well as rheumatologic and infectious diseases that affect the eye in their many forms. He enjoys hiking, skiing and biking with his wife and four boys.
